1. Tell us about yourself

My name is Jonathon, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have a small family, Mom, Dad, and sister, they are all still all back in PA, all of whom I miss dearly, especially my Mom. have been in Texas for almost 3 years now, living with Christi, our dog Kilo, and two cats, Gotham and Spencer. I was always into sports, played anything competitive I possibly could growing up, until I wasn’t tall enough to play anymore (I was not 5 feet tall until my sophomore year of high school) so I stuck with Soccer, Baseball, and Diving. Never won any state championships, but I did go to individual states for diving 2 years in a row. I continued to play soccer in college for a year until sidelined by an injury and I stopped to focus on…uhhh studying?

2. Why did you decide to pursue Crossfit?

I found 3040 when I was living by myself, transferred here for work I was new to the area and about a year of monotonous lifting at LA Fitness by myself, I decided to try something new, and crossfit was my first choice. I just typed crossfit gym into my gps and it took me right to 3040, and Willie. The thought of being able to lift heavy, and do fast workouts that were competitive are what drove me to love Crossfit. I sat behind at first, did the basics, until I saw guys like Willie, Marcelo, and Brian really getting at it. That’s what really lit a fire under me to be better, and I’ve spent a lot of my last two years really working on being as good as the guys that I train with every day now. Oh and you can complain out loud to everyone about how hard everything is…I like that too.

3. How long have you been a member of Crossfit3040?

I have been a member at 3040 for two years now.

4. What is your favorite benchmark/hero Wod and why?

Fran – I love the fast pace of it, and knowing that every second counts, trying to do the whole thing unbroken just to shave a few seconds off your last time. And the feeling of not being able to breathe or move any part of your body afterwards really makes the experience that much better.

5. What do you consider your proudest moment or greatest accomplishment at Crossfit3040?

There was one time Willie told me I did a good job, I think…almost made me cry

6. How has getting in shape changed your life?

Being active has always been a part of my life, in and out of the gym. I think that without being in shape I wouldn’t be able to enjoy a lot of the things that I do…

7. What are some of your favorite things to do outside of Crossfit?

Anything outside, golf, frisbee, basketball, volleyball, hanging out with friends, hunting, fishing, grilling out, date nights with Christi, cruising in my new Jeep, oh and obviously SATURDAYS FOR THE BOYS
